Volatile, perfumed substances which can be extracted from various parts of the plant, including the seeds, bark, roots, leaves, flowers, wood, balsam and resin. Used as incense, perfumes and cosmetics for thousands of years, today, they are mainly used for their ability to influence the nervous system as well as the emotional system.
* Essential oils are highly concentrated substances (in some cases they are even toxic), therefore they are not suitable for administering orally unless as part of a medical therapy, under the supervision of a professional. In some cases they must even be diluted for external use; never apply pure essential oils to the skin.
They must never come into contact with the eyes as they can cause serious irritation.
